Central Region Respite Society (CRRS)
Information on Creating a Posting or Requesting a Profile

The family and provider Registry postings are used to facilitate the process of "matching" respite care providers and families together. The "matches" or referrals are based on the needs of the families and the interests of the care providers. CRRS creates the registry postings after collecting the information from the family at the family visit; or from the provider at the interview/ orientation.

There are several factors that influence the likelihood of a successful match between a family and a care provider. These include:

  • the care requirements of the child
  • the location of the family
  • the rate per hour
  • the number of hours per week/month
  • the schedule hours, and
  • the general expectations of the family

There are some other Respite Terms that CRRS uses to help clarify and define the respite needs of the families and the interests of the care providers.

In an effort to save time and energy we use the Registry postings to gather and display that information and to help families and care providers focus their search for a quality match. Families and providers can contact CRRS after reviewing these “active” Registry postings and request a more detailed profile be sent to them. No detailed family profiles are exchanged without the consent of the family, and only after the family has reviewed the provider’s detailed profile.
